Description

A prolific writer of essays of an academic subject matter; linguistics, paleography and ecclesiastical studies, the writing of ghost stories formed a pleasing distraction for James. He saw only five core books of collected ghost stories published though the stories have sine appeared in countless compilations and anthologies.

Included are only two of these, Casting the Runes and Other Ghost Stories for its invaluable notes and its three hard to find stories and the almost comprehensive A Pleasing Terror.

Presented here are full texts of each of James's ghostly tales to read on screen.
