Ghost Stories for Christmas: Number 13
Dublin Core
Title
Ghost Stories for Christmas: Number 13
Description
Impressive BBC adaptation. Considered to be part of the Ghost Story for Christmas series.
The original tale is departed from somewhat, especially toward the end but this seems justified.
The professor is perhaps somewhat unlikable, which is more of a problem. The supporting cast is very strong however. Perhaps the biggest curiosity is why Hieronymus Bosch was drafted in to add to the suspense. Action is transposed to England. Worth a look, but the definitive Number 13 is yet to be made.
Greg Wise ... Professor Anderson
Paul Freeman ... Mr. Harrington, Cathedral Archivist
David Burke ... Gunton, Hotel Landlord
Tom Burke ... Edward Jenkins
Charlotte Comer ... Alice
Anton Saunders ... Thomas
